Preview Problem

Hi Malcolm,

I'm having an issue on another site where on preview the modal window displays briefly but then the page gets redirected out of the modal window into a new browser tab with a url like:

http://www.backyardfarms.com/index.php/how-we-grow/sustainability/l...

I'm just using a pared down preview template without any js like this:

{exp:channel:entries channel="page"}

{primary}

{/exp:channel:entries}

Any ideas?

Thanks,

JIm

    Hi Jim,

    This will be caused by some JavaScript in your template and nothing to do with BWF. Check for some code which look to see if the page is served in an iframe.

    If you need to keep this you will have to disable it for previews. You can wrap BWF conditional tags around the script tag.

    Thanks,
    Malcolm

    That's what I thought but the preview template is just a simple entries
    tag. Nothing else in it. Where would the js be?

    Thanks!

    If its not your template it could be another add-on which is adding some JS to the publish page.

    What else are you running?

    Thanks,

    It's strange because it happens on some channels and not others. Running
    wigwam, matrix, nav-ee, freeform, tagger.

    Hi Jim,

    Sorry for the slow response. Are you still having this issue?

    I would enable external previews in the BWF settings. This gives you a button at the bottom of the preview window which when you click it exposes the preview URL.

    Grab this and go to a new browser tab and paste it in. Then view the source and check for any JavaScript. If you can create a test HTML page with an iframe and test with this even better - see what it does then.

    If it is nothing to do with the template I'm a little stumped. It might be necessary to get access to your CP and see this in action.

    Thanks,
    Malcolm
