Can't save changes when using Calendar and Better Workflow

I'm having an issue using the Calendar Module from Solspace in conjunction with Better Workflow. When we make a change to an entry and use the save/preview or save/close button the change doesn't get saved, however if we just publish the change is recorded. This bug only presents itself in the calendar module, all standard EE modules save fine.

Have you seen this issue and are there any fixes in the works.

    Hi Scott,

Unfortunately we've not come across this issue as we've not had a chance to use Calendar in any of our sites. As a general rule, third-party compatibility with Better Workflow should be handled by the add-on developers themselves, in this case Solspace. I suggest you open a support ticket with them, and we will be happy to help if they have any issues getting the compatibility integrated into their add-on.

    Hi Rob

I've got the same problem. Contacted Solspace who said they can't help. It would need to be a future feature request.

I did notice an earlier reply:

This seems to suggest that the issue relates to the save button being replaced. I know this was a few revisions ago - could it be a similar issue?

I use the combination of these 2 plugins on some pretty big sites which require the functionality of both plugins.

    Hi Scott,

In BWF Publishing and Previewing are very different actions. When you Publish you effectively just use the native EE Entry saving process. When you Preview you are using a complex BWF specific AJAX save process which creates a copy of the entry.

Calendar uses its own database table and also binds a lot of its own JavaScript to the publish page in the CP. This is required to pass all the selections made to the database. These two factors make compatibility with BWF tricky.

I don't think its going to be easy to get the two add-ons working well together without Solspace taking the lead.

Sorry I can't be of more help.

    Best wishes,
