Notifications for approval and revert to draft

Does BWF send out notifications when an article submitted for approval has been either approved or reverted back to draft?
My client is wondering (as i am) how does the editor know if their article has been approved or not.

I'm afraid that at the moment BWF only notifies the publishers that an entry is ready for approval. It does not notify editors of changes to this.

    Best wishes,

Can it be built in using the hook, the description of the hook suggests it only handles clicks from "submit for approval", or is it fired on all clicks?

The hook could be used but we'd need to tell BWF to fire its notification method on other clicks - like Revert to Draft. At the moment this is only triggered on Submit For Approval.

The rules are stored in the DB and populated from the populate_roles() method in the ep_roles model.

If you could amend the data, setting the last parameter to true, BWF would fire its notification method and you could write an extension using the hook.

It's a bit fiddly but definitely possible.

    Best wishes,

Making the change to the db data, would that ever be affected with future updates? (hard to say i know :) )

You'd probably be fine - this data won't change unless you un-installed and re-installed BWF.

I see people have been looking for this feature since 2012. Any thoughts on adding it? Thank you!

Thanks for your message. I'm afraid we have not plans to add this feature.

    Best wishes,
